Righteousness is not about us. It is the presence of Jesus, in our lives, that makes us righteous before God. While some believe that only “certain people” are meant to follow Jesus, this could not be any more incorrect! What is true, is that Jesus is the pathway to righteous living!
Until we come to Christ, we won’t truly understand God or His ways (John 16:12). This is why Jesus said, “learn of me” https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+11%3A29-30&version=KJV. Therefore, when we become saved and “abide” in Jesus, God will not remain a mystery, and our “spiritual eyes” will be opened to what God wants us to know https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+15&version=NIV.
In closing, living for God is a daily process. When we stumble along the way, we must repent, be willing to change, and continue following Christ https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+21%3A15&version=NIV. As we abide more in Christ, we will find ourselves looking more like Him and being led more by His Holy Spirit (John 15). Remember, “salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” (Ephesians 2:9).
As always, be blessed!
