Today is Saturday, and I am up listening to songs for tomorrow’s worship services (we have two). I am so thankful to be able to participate and serve tomorrow! Meanwhile, I am also thankful and reflecting on this great milestone that I reached, a year ago, this month.

You see, out of nowhere, I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and was dealing with the onset of it. I was also teaching full-time in the school system and trying to maintain my day-to-day routine. Plus, I had plans to become an administrator.

Needless to say, my body, mind, and spirit were exhausted! For a while, I could not workout due to fatigue and terrible bone and muscle pain. I also found myself feeling overwhelmed by my responsibilities at work.

This is what makes me most proud of my degree. This is what makes me glad to say that I am “Dr. Laremore”. Not to brag or to be boastful, but I acknowledge the struggle and the diligence it took to earn that title.

Besides, I only use it professionally. I am not one of those people who has to be called “Dr.” by everyone. Still, my friends and colleagues won’t hear of it and call me by my title anyway.

In fact, they call me by my title and send me mail and correspondences with “Dr. Laremore” on them. Bless them. They are so sweet!

Basically, they are just proud of me. They know what I went through and am still going through. I appreciate that support.

I want to close with my favorite verse that has gotten me through many tough times. It is still my go to, when I feel like giving up or am in pain. Be blessed, and enjoy your weekend!

“And let us not be weary in well-doing. For in due season, we will reap if we faint not.”

Galatians 6:9
