Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and His sheep know what His voice sounds like. That is, if they have read His Word and have it in their hearts. Through His Word, God speaks to the hearts of His children about Who He is and what His character is all about.

The character of Jesus is all about joy, love, forgiveness, and peace. He encourages us to trust, have faith, and hope in God the Father. Jesus also encourages us not to fear, worry, or doubt about anything.

Whenever God’s people hear words of panic or fear, they will not be coming from the voice of God but from those who are doubting Him or are not believing in Him. This is why God’s people must not speak words of gloom and doom. Instead, they should always remember that Jesus has told His followers to fear not (Isaiah 41:10)!

They must not fear because they know that, through the blood of Jesus, God has already overcome this world (John 3:16). The world needs to be reminded of this fact, today! Whenever the world speaks things contrary to the Word of God, the people of God must continue to declare God’s spiritual truths.

Be it the media, entertainment, politics, or others in our every day life, every other voice must be put unto submission to the Holy Word. More than any other voice, God’s voice should be the main voice in the ears of His people! His influence should be greater than any other influence in this world.

“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.”

“For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”

I John 2:15-16
