In this troubled world, in these troubled times, peace is a gift. It is a gift that can only be found in God. In Him, you may find rest. In His Word, God reminds us of this spiritual truth.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

John 14:27

Sadly, so many of us do not take this peace unto ourselves. Instead, we allow the world and the world situations to tell us how to feel. If things are good, then we are good. When things are not well, then neither are we.

Instead of focusing on the Good News of Jesus, some are more focused on the bad news of the world. Such focus has caused many to doubt the power of God. Even worse, some believe that God has forgotten about them.

To the contrary, this is not so. Though you may be facing hard times, God has not lost His power to heal or to save. God is still God, and He is in control.

“I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!”

John 16:33

No matter what we see or hear, we must allow God’s peace to be with us and to remain within us. This can only happen if we are seeking fellowship with Christ. Daily, we can seek to receive His peace into our lives.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:7

As a body of believers, we can remind one another to hold on and stay strong in the Lord. Through our actions, we can also encourage the one, searching for what to believe, to have peace in God. As a result, our actions can be a testimony of consistent peace and not of constant fear.

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power, love, and self-control.”

2 Timothy 1:7
