Believe it or not, you are needed. There are people, right now, who could benefit from your smile, time, and your love. Your compassion and willingness to love others is what can have the biggest impact on our world.

All too often, people miss this point and are busy moving along in their own day. Exhausted, they say they have nothing to give. Sure, we all have responsibilities. We have things that need to be done.

Yet, if everyone becomes too busy to make time to serve others, who will do it? Basically, it boils down to the hearts of man. Those who love Christ are going to meet the needs of others.

In fact, serving others is what the church and Christianity is all about. It is about sacrificial giving. This is not just in money, though it can definitely apply. Still, it is all about the love you are willing to give.

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”

1 Peter 4:10

Sacrificial giving also requires our time. As Jesus said, what we do to others, we have done and are doing to Him. Daily, we need to be mindful of this and how much we are taking heed to live out our faith.

“And He will answer, I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.”

Matthew 25:45

When we say we belong to Christ, we are saying we love others. We are saying we want to see others blessed and have their needs met. Certainly, we must be led by the Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide what we do for others. This way, these works are from the heart and not for show. They will also be the example for the world to follow.

“And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.”

Titus 2:7

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Matthew 28:20

With this charge, from Christ, let’s serve with faithfulness and with thanksgiving for our salvation. Let’s pay it forward. You are needed. We are needed!
