Hard times can be difficult. They do not play fair or warn us of their arrival. When they do come, they can knock us off of our feet. Still, Jesus promises to be available to us. This assurance can be a consolation, in times of uncertain and unexpected trouble.
Know that Jesus desires to be there to dry our weeping eyes and to comfort us. It is His desire to be there, when the pain becomes too much. Jesus wants to lighten our heavy burdens. In our times of terrible heartache and trouble, the peace of God will come to us. If we are willing, this peace will come to us and soothe us.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus will minister to us and ease our pain. This pain, in time, will lessen. In time, we will be able to sing a joyful song. As we allow Jesus into our hearts and into our life situations, there will be no pain that He is not willing or able to heal.
Should troubles linger, along with our tears, Jesus promises never to leave or forsake us. Like no one else, Jesus knows what we need and just when we need it. He also knows when to give it to us. Never too far away, Jesus is as close as we need Him to be.
And to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19
