For whatever reason, we humans find it necessary to solve our own problems. I have been guilty of this. However, through God’s grace, we no longer need to go at life alone. Not only did God make a way for us to be set free from our sins, he also will give us grace whenever we need help making life’s decisions (Psalm 119:34).
Since the day God sent Jesus to die for our sins (2 Corinthians 8:9), so many of us continue to insist on being our own saviors. Well, just like we could not save our own souls, we cannot save our own situations. Only the name and the blood of Jesus can save us, no matter the situation. Therefore, it is wise to acknowledge and surrender to the fact that we are the ones who will always need saving.
Once we allow Jesus to save our soul and come to salvation, it is also needful to allow him to save the rest of our lives (John 15:5). This means abiding in Jesus and submitting our entire lives to him. Sure, we will often try to take back the reins, but when we do, we can get right back in line and pursue righteousness.
When we do this, we are saying, “Jesus, thank you for saving me.” We are also saying, “Jesus, you know the way. I do not know the way, and I am depending on you to show me.” Remember, by God’s grace, we are forgiven (Ephesians 1:7). Because of Jesus Christ, we are no longer alone, in this life. Through Christ, we always have the victory over whatever may work against us.
And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
