Yesterday, I was in a planning meeting with another sister in Christ. For about a month, we had been praying and planning for our first meeting. On this particular day, we were brainstorming ideas for the ministry that we will be implementing next year.
During our meeting, we had lots to share and discuss. More than anything, we expressed our mutual love for Jesus Christ and shared some testimonies of his goodness in our lives. Along with this, we shared our excitement about how our mutual ministries have aligned and have some of the same outreach objectives and goals.
For this reason and this season, we felt led to join forces. To quote her words (and the Bible), “Two are better than one.” Before we knew it, the meeting had lasted a couple of hours!
Joyfully, we agreed that we could talk about the Lord all day long, if we could. However, we decided to end the meeting and to come prepared next month. In the future, I hope to share more about this with you.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.
In the end, the time was put to good use. By the grace of God, we completed what we had set out to do that day. Though we are still in the planning stages, I am very excited to see God use us to reach others for his glory. How refreshing it is to come together, with another believer, and commit to doing the discipling work of the Lord. This is something that all of God’s children have been called and designated, by Jesus, to do (Matthew 28:20). Amen.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
And he said to all, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:2
